How energy conversion works
Omnivaro converts the source value to joules first, then converts that joule value to the selected target energy unit.
Joules = Value × source unit joule factor
Result = Joules ÷ target unit joule factor
Energy units use different scale factors relative to the joule. For example, 1 kWh = 3.6 MJ, 1 kcal = 4,184 J, and 1 Wh = 3,600 J. BTU, foot-pound force, and electronvolt are supported with their locked conversion factors.
