How the discount calculation works
A percentage discount reduces an original value by a chosen percentage. First calculate the amount saved, then subtract that amount from the original price.
Savings = Original price × (Discount ÷ 100)
Final price = Original price − Savings
For example, a 20% discount on 100 saves 20 and leaves a final price of 80.
